Here’s a very good reminder from D.:”At this age, I don’t know if he will grow more distant from all the yelling. But it’s gonna happen soon if you keep it up. What is it with women and yelling? As if it helps anything.”
Xuanie, like most other babies, does things that make him seem like he’s rebellious and sometimes completely unreasonable. I, like many not-so-sweet mothers, and also unlike many wise-and-patient mothers, lose my cool on many occasions. I regret my yelling most of the time.
I must understand that he’s only a baby. When he grows older, I’m sure he’s not going to laugh hysterically at himself while tearing up a roll of toilet paper and littering the shreds around the house. Same with many of his other antics. I need to be more patient and gentle when correcting him and imposing rules. I also need to let him be the baby he is.
